Replacement - In Car Speakers - autumnboy
I'm looking to replace my speakers in my Wifes car.

The question I have is which are the best to use, where I am thinking of approx. 80/100 watts to suit the Radio, 130mm/5" dia. fitted in the front doors and rear shelf.

1) Cone

2) 2way

3) 3way

4) Co-axial

Look forward to your opinions.

If you dont have tweeters fitted as standard then

two way 20/30hz to 20khz

It really depends how much you want to spend.
They will range from £9.99 to £hundreds.
The Pioneer E-motions are good in small sizes like this.

Co-axials in therory enable a bigger bass cone than 2 way though still provding good treble.

I would agree with RF. If no separate tweeters are fitted, then go with 2 way.
As for what model to go for, try going to Halfords and listening to the different speakers they have on display, but always listen to them through the cheapest head unit they have got.

Then go onto the internet and source the cheapest.

Thanks for your tips, but whats the difference between these 2way and co-axial speakers in lay-man terms.

I've seen somewhere that its important to have as large magnets as possible to give best sounds??
