Sony XR-6459 Radio Cassette '95 Passat - Negger
Reently purchased a used Passat, fitted with original (?) Sony XR-6459 Radio Cassette (detachable front), it worked fine for several weeks, then only worked intermitently,and now has stopped altogether - Appears to be dead!
I've checked the wiring, there appears to be a live feed to it !
Can anyone tell me where I can find fault finding instructions for this radio, or any known faults that are worth checking, before going to too much expense ??

Check the earth connection first.

Yes chances are it is only earthed through the aerial screen wire, this may have a poor connection on the body. Clip a wire from the radio body to an earth point on the car.
