I'm interested in finding out if Police forces in the UK modify their V70 T5's,ie suspension upgrades, engine and brake upgrades.

Thankyou pantman, but would you care to elaborate a little please...

more than my jobs worth, however, if you toodle along to your local auction and have a look at the cpv vehicles or tar cars it clearly evident whats been done - better still you may know someone who has bought one. The only things which are removed from the vehicle are the B&T's all else remains
Sorry!

An interesting PDF file of the standard options that Volvo UK offers to Police forces: www.volvoclub.org.uk/pdf/brochures/PoliceCarRangeB...f
On the subject of Volvo UK tuning the engines of police cars, either through traditional or 'chip tuning' methods, when I asked the same question, my contact advised me that this is an urban myth. Of course neither Volvo or the Police will do anything to quash it, because it suits both parties to let it run.
Especially amongst area cars and those used for more specialist futies, changes to brakes and suspension are commonplace, but to engines, non.

Yep - that's what I got told too. Tuning used to happen all the time but when the Cavalier SRi's were new. Now, I suppose having a supercharged V70 hitting someone wouldn't look good...mind you - neither would a notmal V70!
