When left overnight, or all day for example, my clutch seems to slip when the vehicle is first started and i move off.It only happens in first gear and the problem will go after say 10 gear changes or clutch depressions. If I pump the clutch a couple of times before I start the car its much better...,likewise if i rev it hard on starting, but if I dont the first 5 minutes of travel can be a juddering nightmare...Its been looked at by the garage I purchased it from and also a main Vauxhall dealer but they state its OK! Anyone suffered these sypmtons...im beginning to think Ive got a dodgy clutch foot.
Thanks

I have the same car and i change the clutch and the clutch master cyinder and the slave cylinder and now the car is ok
if you are having it done by a garage the labour Should not cost no more then £250 plus your parts on top but vauxhall will charge you more then that if i was doing the job thats i much it would be costing you

Theres a 3 year warranty on the transmission...a 1 year warranty on the clutch......its 13 months old now ...it went to Vauxhall for this with 8 months and they said there was no fault...its intermittent...is this fault typical of the clutch(hydrolic?),or engine management system......the main point is that it stops slipping after a short time, after so many gear changes/clutch depressions or being revved hard at start up...any ideas?.....i.e it will slip first thing am..i can then drive without a problem for say 30 mins...it would be nice to say to them...'i believe its such and such'..otherwise they just look at you blankly

I would say its one of two things; either a fault in the clutch hydraulics or contamination of the plate (perhaps through an oil leak).
Could you maybe take it elsewhere (a clutch change centre) for some diagnostics and then back to the dealer.

And of course the clutch will eventually fail in any car.... it's going to be sooner in your car though! that slipping will eventually bite!
As you reported the fault within the warranty, they are shorely liable to replace parts and cover labour?
BTW have you got any fluid leaks showing up on your driveway?
Cheers,
Martin
