Hi,
I've got a Renault BERLINGO van (P reg). I want to fit a CD player.
However the radio/tape player is in built and made by Renault. It also linked up to a security code that you have to type in to be able to start the engine. Anyone think that I have a chance in hell in buying and get a engineer to fit a CD player?
Should I just pop along to Halfords and ask them if they think there is a chance one could be fitted?
Thanks

Renault Berlingo? that will be the Daewoo..

Leave him alone, he\'s just confused - he means the Citroen Kangoo.

Humour to one side; no, I don't think Halfords would be wise. A specialist car audio place would be a better bet. Where in the country are you ?
|
I would guess Exeter - but he may be on his way to Southampton by now!

in all seriousness adapter panels can be bought which enable you to remove the current radio and fit an off the shelf model from halfords for example.

I would agree, if it wasn't for the security code bit. I would try talking the audio specialist approach first.

CITROEN BERLINGO van, sorry my mistake (very long day at work/written late at night).
Went to Halfords in my lunch break, got the guy to look at the van and he said there should be no problem in getting a CD player fixed.
I had to order a face fitting though before the player can be installed. Just hoping that its as straight forward as he thought.

CD is now install and working!

Excellent news.
A friend has a Scenic with a similar issue. Currently googling to find units that are compatible with the Renault stalk controls.
