They did a "4 for the price of 3" offer a year or so back: that was good value.

Big Mike,
Is that just at the Liverpool one? I usually go to the one at Haydock but I'm only 20mins away from the Liverpool one.

Yes the Offer is on at Haydock - I think it's on nationwide.

I'll second that - I saw the offer in West Thurock as well. There are two discounts:
1) 20% discount if you buy 4 tyres between 11 and 17 October
2) £10 cashback per tyre from Michelin until end of October.

Just bought 2 195/60 15V Pilot Primacys for my Focus from Costco in Derby. They cost £66.50 each including VAT balance etc,and with £10 cashback, making them £56 only.
They also swapped the wheels around at no extra charge, I had the new tyres on the rear.
A quote from my usual supplier was £89 per tyre. So I feel quite pleased with myself!, except that I should have got them when there was a 20% discount, which would have made them £43.20 each.
Now then Schnitzel, I bet you can't get Michelins cheaper than that ( legally that is ).

Well, we go to the same Costco!
My 225x55VR16 were £135 there, and £86 from ETS in Nottingham.
On the end I got Pirelli P7s.
I was cross, as it was the only reason I joined, howeber, have bought other stuff from there to make up for it!
|
It seems odd that the prices can vary so much. My usual tyre company is ATS in Derby.
What do you think of your P7s, I have them on my Passat and find them much grippier than the original Dunlop 200s.
|
|
I forgot to say that all the money I save buying tyres at Costco gets spent on wine, beer and lots of other stuff I should not realy have.
|
I'm very pleased with the P7s, I had a few sets of Goodyear Eagle F1s before them, a very different tyre, had better grip when throwing the car round a corner, but I never do that anyway, but on the downside, they wore out VERY quickly and caused tramlining. The P7s suit the car better, and seem to be lasting much longer, the grip is excellent wet or dry and gives warning of loss of grip as it is very gradual, but I don't really drive to the limits anyway, just testing!

How do I join Costco? I have tried a couple of times, but always seem to get rejected.
Could someone tell me the right answers to their questions, please. I don't know anyone locally who is a member, so I can't even borrow their card.

You have to be a member of a certain profession - i.e. teacher/government, own a business etc.
Even if you did know someone locally, the cards have photos on so you wouldn't get in anyway. (You are checked at the door.)

You can always go with your friend and pay them later.
