Still looking for a different car , but unfortuantly not a new one now as i hoped .
Whats the best out of these please , ive narrowed it down to
2001 Mondeo 1.8lx
2001 Vectra (old style)1.8 club
2001 Omega elite 2.5td automatic
The omega is truely beautifull , but need your advice please ??

Go for the Omega, but with a manual box. I had a 2.5 for nine years from new. Lovely car and so reliable. Nothing wrong the whole time except for front pads, exhaust system and battery.
I would have bought another if they hadn't done away with the model.

How did the Omega get compared to the 1.8 Mondeo, TOTALLY different animals!!
I'f you can stand the, not too much more, unless you're doing high miles, running costs, Omega is the one!!

Will be doing a lot of mileage probably , just thought of the Mondeo as people say they are very good cars . The omega has a fairly lowish mileage of 36,000 I believe compared to the mondeo which has about 60,000 . The omega is £2000 more than the mondeo and Vectra , and is an Automatic and NOT a manual . Just the fact that looking on different car websites , the Omega is not much better on fuel consumption even though its a Diesel .

The engine in the Omega is the BMW unit from about 10 years ago. Think its OK, but look at comments about the BMW 525tds for thoughts about the Omega

I would take the Omega out of those 3 but its a very odd list.
Why Mondeo 1.8 LX v Omega 2.5 higher spec?
If the Mondeo in question was a 2.0 or TDCi in Ghia or Ghia X specification and was a Mk3, I'd take that over the Omega. But if its a 1.8 LX I'd have the Omega.
