Am unable to lock the doors on a Peugeot 206, whether by using the key in either lock or using the remote plip. With the doors and boot shut, the central locking just locks the doors briefly and then unlocks again as though one or more of the doors are open. Have looked inside the hinge bit of the doors and there's a small black cylindrical bit of plastic so is this the sensor? Tried cleaning it but to no avail. Not sure where the boot one is so was hoping someone could give me a clue as to why the locking mechanism's behaving like this!

Hi.
Whilst Fords are very different than Peugeots, the exact same happened on my Focus...right down to the letter. For me it was the driver's door catch. The only difference was, if locked from the passenger side, the doors locked.
Hope that helps

I would suggest that the front door latches are faulty (common fault on this model)They are now modified and require a different multi-plug connector to be fitted.Take car to an auto elect specialist,it is not realy a DIY job.

Hi
If you want to change a doorlock youself & need the modded wiring info then its here on this website.
Click on Electrical at the top, Scroll down to Door locks in the list on the left hand side & then click on Actuator Modification 206.

Thanks for the suggestions. Gonna see what the local dealer has to say about it and take it from there.
