Hi
A friend is off to France for 6 months soon and is looking to take her car with her. Are there any insurance companies that will cover her whilst she is away?
Thanks in advance

First off I suggest she talks to her current insurers. I@m sure for a fee should be able to get suitable cover.
I know my insurers (Frizzell/Liverpool Victoria) provide up to 90 days (near as dammit 3 months) cover for any 1 European journey with no limit on the number that can be taken. No green card required - this comes as part of the deal, but I know other insurers still insist on knowing when the trip will be and issuing a green card.
So in this instance she's looking to double the amount of time she's away - shouldn't be a prohibitive cost I'd have thought.
Of course, if she could come back for a day or two mid-trip...:o)

Ok thanks - I'll pass that on to her. I think she was only able to get 30days with her current insurer so I think that she will have to look around.

I'm with Zurich and they provide full European cover for as long as you want. They do not require you to inform them of travel arrangements, and the insurance certificate has translation in a number of European languages on the reverse.
