Same here, new one for the bike. Because of EU harmonisation they are going to replace all reg documents with the new type, which contain exactly the same information as the old document.
What a stupendous way to waste (our) money.

They are rolling out the replacement documents over the next few months, IIRC. Father had a new one for his Passat last week, at neither tax nor MoT time. Looks like you happened to sell your car just as the DVLA were churning out your new logbook, pure coincidence! A phone call to check wouldn't hurt though.
