i have just recently bought a zx furio (m plate). i started it the other day and the radio started, stopped, started and then asked for the code. it is the original fit unit, but nothing i have done has helped. the radio just sits there asking for some unknown code.
can anyone help?
ps - the code number i was given didn't work!

You will probably need to take it too a specialist and get it decoded (cost around £25 on my old AX radio a few years back).
As you can buy a decent CD player for £50-£60 you may as well bin it...

I was thinking of getting a cd for it, but the original unit is one of the large fronted ones with a flap. I went to a crash / stolen recovered breakers near me and there isn't a cd to fit. Even Xantia units with a cd won't fit. It seems to be either an original type one or a nasty cover of some type!

You could try a facia adapter from somewhere like Halfords. I have a Ford and of course, the means a massive stereo. The facia was about 12 quid and actually looked ok. Of course, the cd player got nicked and I had to put the old Ford one back in but the facia adapter looked good!

Hi
Dont get a facia adapter from Halfords, IT CHEAPER AT THE CITROEN DEALER!

From what I was told the cover plate pulls away from the radio so you can fit a cd player without any problems using original
cover plate but you may need an adapter for the Aerial connection.?

Hi
The facia adapter from Citroen cost about £10 & has a little flap that hides your radio when the cars parked up.
Its much better then anything Halfords could get you.

If you know the garage that the car was originally sold from, give them a ring and ask them to check it up on their system.
I tried this with a '95 306 and got the correct code in seconds, all they asked was the car's registration number

I forgot to mention.have the battery checked out as that should not have happened.radio on or off when you started the engine memory will have been lost only if battery low during startup drain on battery will starve radio memory of power.which then asks for code.

Email Graeme Davidson at www.davidsonelectronics.co.uk He'll sort it out for you no bother.
