I haven't got a user manual for my wifes Mark 3 Gof, does any one have a clue on how to fit the front towing eye and where it goes? I'm stumped!

Hi,
Im not that up on Mk3 golfs but I think that the towing eye is fitted to the passengers side, behind a little flap on the outermost lip of the bumper. The flap, I think is disguised as a light, next to the indicators. (frosted lense next to the orange indicator lense) Prise that off, and simply screw the eye in by hand, and tighten using the jack handle. It may have either a right or left hand thread. (May be wrong on which side of the car its on!)

Cheers for that, I was under the car with a torch for about 2hrs last night scratching my head, thinking I must be mad not to be able to see where it goes!

Sorry I didn't reply the other day. Absolutely spot on with the location of the tow eye thread, car towed to the garage and all fixed now, thanks for your help, Regards, Gavvers
