Have had trouble for a few days with one glowplug apparently not working. Would start OK, but with one cylinder missing and grey smoke, which would clear within a few seconds
Decided to wait until the weekend, when I would start the 405 axle job
Removed brown wire to glowplugs and checked for voltage from control unit, but was only a few volts, not the 12v I expected.
I will have another look, but my present theory is that the glowplug has gone short circuit and taken the control unit with it. I still need to find the faulty one and replace, as it may take the replacement unit with it
Anyone any experience with this? I will have to double check, as the unit is £77.08 with 3 days delivery quoted
Have got an offer of NGK plugs for £8 each as against Bosch at £10
Just to crown things I went to my 309 to move it, before deciding whether to tax it while I repair the 405 and the battery read 9v. Hope I have just left the interior lights on or something
