Regarding HJ's Top Car report today - the December 03 Crossfire that failed to even reach 20k...
Could one comment from Clarkson regarding the dog-squatting rear end really cause this, or is the car, if you excuse the pun, a real dog...?
Maybe people don't want to pay so much money for what is more or less a remodelled old-shape SLK with the wrong badge for snobby British buyers?

The real problem with them in the metal is that bonnet; it looks like something nicked from a scout hut. Add to that the restricted access to a tiny boot that is only tiny because of the styling, top it off with cheap interior detailing and it all looks pretty silly.
Oh don't forget the name either. What normally happens to people caught in crossfire?
|
A bit unfair - in the metal it is a handsome and distinctive beast, sadly overpriced in the UK compared to its US price and up against some pretty heavy duty competition in its UK price bracket. At 20k it might be close to its real value. Seen a couple in the metal including a bright red one outside the pub the other night. Mind you I misheard the conversation which preceded its arrival - I thought that the lady said "I came here on Barry's crossbar" when in reality it was Crossfire....perhaps another case of too much Stella.

You can never have too much Stella.... but then that's my wife's name.

How can you do this to us??
First you tell us that No Dosh isn't actually the name on your birth cert, now you destroy the remnants of the illusion by telling us that your better half is not actually called Mrs No Dosh.
I want my money back! {grin}

But she's Mrs S No Dosh, whereas I'm Mr A No Dosh.
My accountant tells me the A stands for Absolutely and the S for Still, but only if the Inland Revenue are asking.

Lovely! My faith is restored :)
I bet you have fun choosing suitable initials for the next generation of the financially-challenged ...

Autocar doesn't seem to like it either - complaints about the way it drives

I had a good poke around one while the Jeep was last in for service. At the price you'd expect a bit - no, a lot - more attention to detail. What struck me was the transmission tunnel moulding was obviously for a left-hooker, so the recess where the handbrake fits in would make it a wrist-wrenching job to pull it on and it's on the far side of the tunnel.
Must try harder, Chrysler.
