Had a look at the new Mazda 3 the other day, very stylish, well built, and if it comes with the usual mazda relaibility its a winner for me.....

I think the only controversial thing I can say in response to that is that Mazda probably prefers it to be written Mazda3.
Of course it'll be interesting to compare it with the next Focus.

My daughter has bought a Mazda3 saloon and I can confirm the buld quality is excellent, - she has the 1.6 manual and at tick over the engine is practically inaudible and now that it is run in, 40 mpg is achievable quite easily. The only fault I can find is that the seats lack adequate lumber support.

Clarkson didn't like it, but that doesn't mean anything really. It would be on my shopping list if I was looking at this size of car.
