I use my Astramax van daily for /- 10 mile round trip, no problems. I recently did a 90 mile trip. On the way home everything was fine. Came into my drive and it conked out. Could not start at all. Still does not. A mechanic told me it was unlikely to be the glow plugs as the engine was still warm when trying to start it.Everything seems to be connected and the cam belt is not broken. Can anyone help me?

Power supply to stop solenoid or the solenoid itself. Check the camshaft is actually rotating while cranking, the pulley may have come loose and is spinning on the shaft as it is on a taper and not keyed. If so damage will be the same as for a broken belt i.e. throwaway job.Other possibilities are failed drive to pump or air leak into filter.

Thanks Andrew. Eventually got mechanic to look at it. The belt had jumped (assume tensioner malfunction) going in today for repair. Thanks for the reply.

Stupid question, but:-
1. is the fuel gauge accurate?
2. is the driveway sloped upwards?
The fuel outlet is at the front of the tank, and if low on diesel and the driveway is sloped upwards.... I need not explain further.
