Isn't it still known as the Grauniad or has Lord Gnome stopped that?
Oh, and it was originally picked up by the filter as that word can be used to set text scrolling on the screen, which we don't want. I went to the BBC site and checked their spelling and copied it verbatim (Mods can over-ride the filter) - though you lot would pick it up, hence me leaving it.
:o)

Enough about Marquises and Marchionesses, I am having some trouble with your Greek, ND.
1. Filter. Is this the one you should change every 6k miles?
2. That word - which? Marque, m******?
3. Scrolling about in the hay - indeed we don't want that! (?)
4. The BBC website spells it marque (now...).
in confusion...

I have read all the posts in this thread, but the more I read them, the less sense it all makes. Are you all smoking something? ;-)

So you left it there knowing someone else would pick it up. Why didn't you not leave it there and then nobody would have had to pick it up ?

Easier to take it down than put it up, I suppose. Particularly if there's a good gale going.

For the sheer pleasure of this lot tying themselves into lexiconic knots of course. Then I can delete all the rubbish later this evening.
Mapmaker, have you been sniffing the smoke pouring from your poorly cylinder? I've started using the central line via St Pauls to get out of SW1 as quickly as possible in case I get jumped by someone waving self-adhesive apostrophes at the billboards on Southwark St on my way to London Bridge.
