Hi everyone
I'm new to this forum, but would like some assitance with a problem I have with my Renault Clio 1994 RL diesel 1.9.
I have no servo assisted braking which makes braking very heavy indeed at low speed. However, when I was on the motorway yesterday at high speed the brakes were very sharp so the power assistance seemed to be working ok.
I've checked back through the cars history and found a couple of receipts that show that it has had this problem previously. Once it had a new servo and previously there was dirt in the valve in the Vacuum Pump. Why would it keep re-occuring?
I'm not sure what to do as I'm concerned that I may replace a part for it only to break again. I'm not particularly technical but have done work on cars before (e.g swapping a head on an escort).
Please can anyone advise on what this problem could be and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance

Vacuum Check valve could be faulty, usually found attached to or in the pipe going to the servo vacuum reservoir. Regards Peter
