all,

ive noticed that when pulling up my handbrake the light does not light up on the dash, today i checked the handbrake switch, bukbs behind the dash, cleaned connections where switch meets earth point on handbrake it self all working ok.

has anybody got any more ideas on what it could be??

Try checking the connector that goes to the top of the brake fluid reservoir (fluid level switch).

Might be different on your car, I have an escort, but it took me ages to work out why the light wouldn't come on, then found the cable that goes to the brake reservoir was dangling down by the driveshafts!

I think this is where ur answer lies. Also, contacts might be a bit dirty.
