I'm trying to find out how to import a left hand drive Renault Megane (new shape - ideally the 1.9 Diesel) to the UK - anyone know of any reputable websites/companies that still import LHD cars? I know most of the big importers used to offer LHD cars (eg Broadspeed) but they no longer seem to do so.

1. Why?
2. Why not just buy one from a foreign dealer and drive it back? Belgium is close and convenient if you're in the south east.

1. Long story - my father is moving to France in 4 months to live permanently. Needs to get rid of his RHD UK car before the move (ideally) as there'd be no market for it over in France. And he needs a LHD car once in France, but can't do without one in the meantime. So he needs to import a LHD to the UK, register it here now, then register it in France when he's moved permanently.
2. He doesn't live in the south east! He lives in the north west and wants the convenience of an importer who can either deliver to the door or where he can collect from a forecourt in the UK.
I take it you don't know of any websites or companies then!

I'm afraid I don't know of any web sites/companies either. I'd suggest looking at one of the the broker sites, there are several advertised here. Some of them bring in foreign cars and I can't imagine they mind whether or not its RHD.
Clearly he'll be better selling the RHD car here.
But are you sure he wouldn't be better buying the LHD car in France ? I would have thought the comparative cost would have made it worthwhile - he'd probably even be able to register it in France and simply use it here on that licence plate for a month or so.

If he has an address there then he should
Buy it in France (it will be cheaper and he will have no warranty agro) Insure it in france, tax register or whatever in france, then drive it as much as he wants in the UK till he moves.
