Should You Bark Like a Dog to Your Dog? - dogs habit

Hey everyone!

I wanted to chat about something a bit silly but fun:

I’ve been experimenting with different ways to communicate with my dogs, and sometimes I find myself barking or making silly dog noises just to see how they react. Honestly, it’s pretty hilarious! My Great Dane and my other pups seem to get a kick out of it, and they often respond with wagging tails and playful barks of their own.

But I’ve been wondering—does this actually help strengthen our bond, or is it just a funny party trick? Some people say mimicking dog sounds can grab their attention better than just talking to them. But on the flip side, I’ve also heard that it could confuse them. Like, do they think I’m trying to challenge them to a barking contest?

I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have any of you tried barking at your dog? What was their reaction? Let’s swap stories this could be a fun conversation!

Well, it certainly has nothing to do with motoring .... And we've all heard about being barking mad.

I'd say that the OP is either positing this 'for a larf' to tick-off members here, or as a prelude to posting spam.

Personally I think that new members should only be able to post on the motoring-related forum area and about motoring-related issues, for at least the first (say) 10 comments.

There's jokey (but genuine) stuff and then there's what the OP posted, which sounds like it came from some deranged modern-day political activist.
