Expect the usual torrent of negatives - wouldn't work here - more congestion, narrower roads, complex junctions etc etc etc.

Reality - this is the future. The only question is how long until the cost becomes affordable and software improves to the point it is a no brainer.

Looks to be a lot smoother than the autopilot on my Model 3. In this country, it’s a bit skittish on anything other than motorways/dual carriageways. It certainly doesn’t like stop start traffic and gets spooked easily by parked cars. Different software, appreciated, but I’m not sure I’d trust FSD.

Is autopilot allowed in the UK?

Do you update the software?

We’re a bit more restrictive in the UK.

Not necessarily an exhaustive list, but we can have adaptive cruise control (can bring the car to a stop and set off again), lane centring that’ll operate for a few seconds hands-free (Ford have dispensation on one of their models to run hands-free with no time limitation), automatic lane changing (following the driver indicating), self-parking, and a ‘beckon’ feature for getting the car to put itself into and extricate itself from car park spaces.
There may be others I’ve forgotten.

That sums it up nicely.

Autopilot has got a lot more strict recently. Interior cameras monitor if you’re paying attention. If not, a warning is issued. 3 warnings in a period of time and you’re excluded from using it for 7 days. This includes not putting enough pressure on the steering wheel.

When it works properly, Autopilot is great. However, due to the amount of phantom breaking I find I’m always hovering over the accelerator, just in case.

I found a problem with 12.3.6 is going south on Valley turning left for the eastbound 15th street. The section between Valley and ardmore makes a human swing wide to get in the right lane. FSD usually straddles the lanes or tries to go right from the left turn only lane. People have trouble with it too.

I think automation will increase and get better and better. Although I still wonder how it knows you need to swerve into someone's driveway ever so slightly to avoid the complete "car killer" pot hole which has been on my daily commute for 6 months now.

Will be fun on single track roads with passing spaces..- and often deeeeep ditches on either side I travel on these roads weekly going to beekeeping meetings ( I am a trainer)..

(too narrow for BMW X5s or above...)
