Vauxhall Grandland - no heated front screen fitted - Stephen Marriott

We lease car on motorbility and specification says heated front windscreen, we have a button that lights up when pressed but seems no heated screen. So when went in for first service asked garage to look at. They said oh we are in contact with motorbility about this. 2 weeks went by so I got intouch with motorbility who knew nothing about it. Anyway cut along story short I contacted vauxhall customer services and after a few weeks came back and said case closed we are doing nothing about it ,no compensation. Motorbility are shocked as well . Does anyone know if I still have a case ?

Firstly, have you checked to see if it’s actually got a heated screen fitted ? There should be some very thin wire elements embedded in the glass .

Who said the car has a heated windscreen, Motability or Vauxhall?

Also, why do you think there is no heated screen (when there is a button, which lights up)?

Also, the presence of a button showing a picture a windscreen within the heating and ventilation controls does not necessarily mean it has a heated windscreen. In most cases when pressed, this button simply directs all air to the windscreen in order to clear it as quickly as possible (rather than having actual heating elements within the screen)

I'm also unsure as to exactly what case you are talking about?. Do you want to reject the car or what?

I’m a touch curious about how you test for a heated screen (apart from looking for the wires) in August?
Any compensation, in the case of a misbuild, should surely go to Motability, as it’s their car?
Vauxhall’s website says the Ultimate grade has it, optional on others.
