Gauges showing wrong values? Fiesta 1.8D - johnmac

I just got my radiator changed and now the heat gauge doesnt increase at all, also strangely the fuel gauge is actually higher tham it should be, i ran out of diesel yesterday as a result. any ideas ?

Has the temperature sender (probably near the top hose) been reconnected?
