A friend of mine has bought himself a 96 Import impreza STI. These in japan, run on RON 100 unleaded fuel, the nearest we have is RON 97 unleaded. He has been advised against octane boosters as these in time will damage the cat and don't really do alot.
So to run this car to its potential it should have its ECU remapped or face a melt down pushing to a std. 280bhp.
Subaru UK don't touch them.
The question is who is the best to approach from experience. He has a couple of names, so he's comparing your opinions.
So who's the man??

I think the forum at www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/ is the place to look ....

Not that it's connected with your question, but it's amazing that Subaru won't touch Impreza imports, yet Mitsubishi will deal with Evo imports.
My brother-in-law looked into both, but then ended up buying a brand new UK spec Evo!!!!

Would refer you to the www.sidc.co.uk Subaru Impreza drivers Club. Decent bunch of guys and good sound advice based on experience.
Hope this helps.

Shell and BP have a nearly 100RON fuel. I think BP's is called ultimate. He could use either of those and not have to do any remapping at all.

As a result of some of the feedback I got on Impreza's in the Discussion forums, a couple of names cropped up (apart from the resources mentioned above).
There's a company called Power Engineering in Uxbridge
www.powerengineering.co.uk/
Tel 01895 255699
They seem to have lots of Impreza tech experience and facilities. Another name for specialists in Jap imports was Litchfield...I think Gloucester way:

Thanks Paul,
But one don't do it and the other only 98 on, and any earlier imports.
