Anyone know if the stiff, rear torsion suspension bars from a Pug 206 GTI will fit a Citroen ZX.

I would seriously doubt it. Firstly, I think the 205 has a narrower track than the ZX.
Second, it is the 306 which is basically a ZX with a different body, not the 205.
If you must change the bars, go for either the ZX or a 306. I wouldn't chop and change otherwise, you're asking for problems.
The only reason I can think of you wanting a narrower track/205 bars, is so you can get clearance of the arches and fit wider tyres, yes? If that's the case, you'd probably get away with it as long as the 205's bars are up to it as the 205 is much lighter.
Personally, I don't think 205 ones will be long enough to latch into the splines of their mounting points which are welded to the underside of the car. I could be wrong, but I've had a ZX for the last 18 months, and had toyed with this idea already.
Kind regards

The question was about a 206GTI not 205.
A mate of mine is looking to stiffen his suspension, he can get stiffer and lower front springs, but not stiffer rear torsion bars to match.
So that's what's behind the question.

The 206 rear suspension, whilst similar in 'type' to the ZX (eg rear trailing arm) is completely different to the ZX. You would be better off looking for another ZX (the Volcane or 16V probably has the stiffest rear) or a sporty 306.
