Peugeot 308 Allure Sw Hdi Blue S/S 2016 reg - P2047 and P2452 Faults - 308 SW HDi blue - ma9gm

Hey, I just travelled back from holiday (roughly 150miles) and everything was ok. Then 3 hours later I popped out and when I started the car I got the engine fault light pop up. When I attached the diagnostic machine it gave me error codes P2047 and P2452. Any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it? My wife is due to drive 200miles tomorrow to visit her sister. Is this the type of error code that can be driven on? It's a Peugeot 308 Allure Sw Hdi Blue S/S 2016 reg, Any help would be appreciated.

Both of those faults relate to the dpf system operation. Difficult to say exactly what’s at fault, as it needs further investigation.

That's helpful thank you. So sounds like the best suggestion is to book it into the Peugeot garage and get them to check it out. The engine warning light is orange. Does that mean I can still drive it?

The orange light is there to indicate a malfunction in the engine control system. However , this covers many possibilities. It’s probably ok to drive short distances , but needs investigation sooner rather than later.

That's helpful thank you. Do you think it's best to go to the Peugeot garage or is it something an independent garage will be able to sort out?

A good / recommendation Indy garage should be able to sort it out . Main dealer will probably want in excess of £100 just to open the bonnet.

Google "planet owners map" and find someone local with a clone of the official diagnostic tool.

They won't fix the problem but will give you detailed information on what's most likely at fault so you can take that to a garage or get the parts yourself.

Hi, that's really helpful thank you. I've found someone who's quite close too. I'll fire them over a message and ask if I can come plug in my car. Do people normally charge?

Depends on the person and how far they have to travel.

Personally I and many others don't charge if someone comes to me at a time best for me. Some offer me cash but I say to give it to charity. Some will give me a 4pk of beer which I will grudgingly accept!

I can understand that. I've found someone pretty close who I've messaged. They've not got back to me yet but hopefully they will. There are a few others near me in mid-suffolk if he doesn't.

Remember, reading the codes is not going to fix it . You need to find someone who can understand what’s happening and process the information.

That's a good reminder. It'll help me know if it's something I can fix at home or if I need a garage to sort it out!

So today was the day it was due in the garage. As I started it this morning there was no error message. It'd somehow managed to fix itself!!! I don't massively understand what's going on with it. I dropped it off anyway and they're going to have a check. Could it potentially have been a blockage that's cleared itself or something like that?

Even if there's no error there will be codes stored in the BSI log and the ECU - certainly enough for them to do some basic diagnosis.

And the faults will be logged as intermittent or permanent.
