How do I tell for sure if my passat is a "pd" as I've read many people refer to this type of car, and now i'm not sure either way, I have a :-
VW PASSAT 1.9 S TDI AUTO ( as per the log book )
Year (W) 2000
It is 85kw, to my understanding this is the 130bhp car.
cheers.

If the D and I of the TDI on the boot are red it's the 115 bhp PD and if it's just a red I it's 110bhp (non PD). HJ's answer is loads better but the maths lost me early on!

My thanks to HonestJohn and NeilS as you are both spot-on.
I have been doing some digging through my paper work and my car is the 85kw = 115bhp PD - but what does PD mean/stand for?
Thanks again....
