HF is indeed nasty stuff, but the chance of it eating into your flesh must be small - it COULD be formed in trace amounts if some organic fluoro-compound decomposes in a fire. HF boils at about ambient temperature and is a reactive strong acid so will be neutralised by any alkali. If some liquid gets on the skin, certainly an antidote has to be applied pretty quickly.
Maybe more worth worrying about the formation of HCN which is directly toxic by inhalation, as you may recall the occasional house fire where HCN arose from burning polyurethane furniture foam.
