Continuing the dealer theme, it’s bad news for Jaguar sites as their network will be reduced from currently 80 in the UK to 20 within the next couple of years.
That’s millions of pounds spent over the past few years bringing dealerships up to current brand spec effectively being written off if you’re one of the 60.
Most are combined Jaguar/Land Rover, so that’s a lot of showroom floor for LR to fill.

With Jagaurs apparently starting from £100k in the future it is going to become a niche luxury brand so I guess they won't need many dealers.

I don't think their saloons sell well so they don't need all the showrooms. I can't remember the last time I saw a new or nearly new XE or XF. The SUVs seem to overlap with the Landrovers.

I don't get the SUV craze at the moment - in my eyes they look like a box. As an extreme example if you had the money I'd rather have a real Bentley compared to a Bentley SUV.

It obviously just me!

I think I am correct in saying that Jaguar haven't actually been making any XEs or XFs for quite a while due to component shortages.

I recall reading recently limited production was restarting.

It's not. I think they all just look the same with some contrived styling in places to make them look sporty/sophisticated/edgy.

I hope the fad passes soon.

A review in Top Gear of KIA's new SUV the EV9 electric looks like they are here to stay. The same basic shape size of the Range Rover but to me it is the most ugliest car I have seen in a while. Very modern with a range of 300plus. No prices yet as it will be released later in the year. I dread to think how much looks like the next Chelsea tractor!

Jaguar are too much of a niche manufacturer nowadays,

I had a bet last week with a mate.

Gone in 5 years, It'll just Be Land Rover.

No delivery date for some parts he wants and so fed up.

I always DIY research into spares before buying

And tyres

And servicing costs.

And reliability

‘Gone in 5 years, It'll just Be Land Rover.’

Sadly, that wouldn’t surprise me. There doesn’t seem to be a Jaguar USP any longer, more rebadged Land Rover product.
The days of ‘space, pace and grace’ seem a long time ago.

Jaguar have a global sales volume of about 20% of each of BMW, Audi and Mercedes - about 5% of the German premium manufacturers in total. Then there is Lexus, Tesla etc.

They are too low volume to compete in their existing market in reducing production costs through volume or funding product development.

Their only real option is to find a niche which works for them given their historic brand values.
