Personally, I think the fad for folding metal (usually) hardtops produced some absolute stinkers in the automotive world. In the case of smaller cars like the Micra, the necessary hurdles jumped to make enough space to pack that roof away while folded invariably results in spectacularly poor proportions. It also invariably results in a chunk of extra weight over the hatchback version, something like 170kg in the Micra's case, which has a detrimental effect of both MPG and performance. It also usually results in rear seats which exist only for the purposes of extra in-car storage due to the absence of any rear legroom (unless being driven by someone very short). If that wasn't enough to dissuade you it is also worth bearing in mind the fiendish complexities of that folding hardtop, the reliability of which will invariably decrease as the car gets older (and cheaper). Finally, the conversion from a rigid cage like structure to being open on top also means that these cars have nowhere near the structural integrity of their hatchback siblings, especially when the roof is down. This can often mean lots of squeaks and creaks when the roof is in place, but with the roof down the extra flex can give the distinct impression of the car being in 2 halves with some rubber between!.
Its not all bad though(!), £800 really isn't very much money these days. So if if you are convinced that the sagging door is not a result of the whole structure sagging (just a weak hinge for example), the roof raises and lowers fine, you find the driving experience fine, you don't need rear seats, and the MOT history does not throw up any alarm bells, it might be worth a punt!.
