RE '96 Omega 2.5 V6 petrol, manual.
I think I may have got my numbers transposed when making a note of where the 6 plug leads go on the DIS module.
Anyone out there confirm where they actually go? (from the viewpoint of lifting bonnet, standing and looking in to engine bay, with DIS unit at right rear of engine)
If there are 2 rows of 3 sockets, the top row by the windscreen if you see what I mean, and the 2nd row nearer the engine, is the order for them as below?
WINDSCREEN
row 1: (LH) 5:3:1 (RH)
row 2: (LH) 6:4:2 (RH)
ENGINE
Cheers

The Haynes book doesn't say which goes where, but says the leads are numbered as well as the terminals.
Which is all very well unless you've changed the leads, I suppose.
This webpage www.mobiletuning.carnuts.co.uk/dis.htm says this, which may help (it indicates you may have them paired wrongly):
DIS CONFIGURATIONS
Most distributorless ignition systems have a separate ignition coil for each pair of spark plugs (two coils for a four cylinder, three coils for a V6, four coils for a V8, and in the case of a V10 five coils). Each coil fires its two spark plugs simultaneously. The paired spark plugs are located in opposite cylinders (such as 1-4 and 2-3 on a four cylinder, or 1-4, 2-5 & 3-6 on a V6) so that one cylinder fires on its power or compression stroke while the opposite cylinder fires on its exhaust stroke. The spark plug that fires in the cylinder during its exhaust stroke does nothing and is referred to as the "waste spark." There is little voltage resistance in the waste spark cylinder, so most of the firing voltage is available at the plug in the compression cylinder that needs it. When the engine turns another revolution and the cylinders reverse roles, the same process repeats with both plugs again firing simultaneously. One spark ignites the mixture while the other does nothing
but be aware that I'd never even heard of a DIS before reading your post...

Thank for that Smokie. The configuration that I posted above was obtained via phone from my local VX dealer!
Anyone out there that has done the job recently? and made better notes than I did!
Thanks

Had a quick surf but couldn't find the answer : can't tell the correct order from mine without removing wiper motor etc. etc. Might be work e-mailing autovaux; they're generally pretty helpful.
