I would assume the coolant level is ok. I guess there is a low level warning if it isn't. Possibly a problem with the electronic heater shut off valve stuck closed.

Easy thing first - how's your coolant level?

It was just below minimum, so iahe topped up to max and done another 150 motorway miles home and its still only blowing cold.

Does the engine reach its normal running temperature on the gauge? Could be the thermostat stuck open if not, but even if it was, it should have got to normal temp on a long run like that.

As previously mentioned it’s probably something to do with the heater air mix flaps.

Isn't it 'climate control' rather than a 'heater' ? With current temperatures and the greenhouse effect of car windows I wouldn't have thought the system would have blown hot air into the car if the temperature is set to around 21C.

even set to 24 it was cold , typically did a short run today and its working fine. if I take it to dealers will it have a code stored to identify the fault or will they just say its ok we can't see anything wrong ?

With recent continuous hot weather, it’s likely the heater water control valve has been in the closed position for quite a while. Now that you have requested heat , it may have been partially stuck shut . Whether or not that will show any relevant diagnosis code is debatable.

Typical , last 2 days heater has been working ok. Rang dealer service who said no codes will be stored so I will not take it in yet until it stops fully.
Thanks
