Hyundai Matrix 1.5d 2007 - Lack of power - longdog

Steadily gets up to 30mph.There's a lack of power when it's needed especially on uphill gradients. Any pointers to look at would be appreciated. Only done 48k miles.

Clutch worn out ? Any engine warning lights on ?

Clutch is good and there are no warning lights whatsoever. Turbo is unresponsive when accelerator is pressed down on.

Possibly a turbo related issue . Can you hear any excessive intake noise? Could be a split boost hose .

Turbo doesn't kick in whatsoever. Had it diagnostic analysed and all is fine. No unusual noise that I can hear. going to have the EGR valve off for an elimination clean and see how it then goes. Boost hose appears to be ok. What do you think of using diesel EGR valve cleaning aerosol before taking it off.. is it recommended or knock it on the head and clean it?

Has the turbo itself been checked for rotation, both input and output impellers ?

Is this an economic repair ? . It’s possible the work could come to near the value of the car .
