hi all , so , a/c condenser got a bit wee dunt and burst. it was replaced by a fully competent local mechanic but he didnt have the facility to re gas it. ats euromaster had an offer on so i took it there, when i went back to collect it the guys said they couldnt do it as the lines got abnormally hot but didnt know why, ,maybe mech had done something wrong, later that day they called me to say the same thing happened to another car they tried to re gas so must be a fault with their equipment and they would get me back when its fixed. 2 weeks later they take it back in but again the lines are very hot so didnt work.
the guys there dont know why this might be, anyone here got the answer.? cheers

I would suggest you take it to an Aircon specialist. These quick fix outlets are not competent enough to fix problems . As it’s had front end damage, it’s important that the cooling fan circuit it working correctly.

A mechanic who can't regas aircon is not a competent aircon engineer and neither are the fast fit centres. Splitting the work across two providers means they can now blame each other if a further fault is identifed.

With such a new car it may be time for a dealer visit for a proper diagnosis,

Are they trying to use the wrong gas? R134a was used in most new cars until 2017 at the latest - since then it a more environmentally R1234yf. The Kona model was introduced 2017 so it should be the newer gas.

I think this needs the attention of a proper air con specialist.
