Maybe they should do what windows is doing, use a TPM module to prevent anyone hacking the system, not so sure it wont turn into copper cable stealing as I gather copper is becoming more expensive to buy and harder to get?

The Chinese control much of the global copper market - and an increasing demand for high-capacity charge points won't help things. At least the plumbing demand may have fallen a bit with the move to plastic fittings.
