Audi A1 - Air con only works on highest setting - Halmerend
I noticed that the air con is only working on the highest number 4 setting when I got in my wife’s car this morning. 1,2 and 3 not working and no blowing at all. The red air con on light also goes out when it is switched from 4 to 3. Any ideas what it might be please? It’s a 1.0 tfsi 2017 model.

Blower resistor pack burnt out.

As above . Easy fix , part accessible from passenger footwell , or behind glovebox, depending on what heater box fitted . Costs about £20.

As I suggested earlier, there are 2 locations for this resistor. One is above the passenger feet that does not need removal of the glovebox.

Had a quick look under the glove compartment with a torch and can’t see anything obvious other than black plastic underneath. I can see two slider clips on an oblong shaped piece of plastic. Could it be under there?

There may be a black foam insulation panel below the glovebox. carefully grab hold of it and pull it aside. if the resistor is located here, there will be a 4 pin electrical connector visible.

Had a look and the only foam I can see is the black insulation foam against the bulkhead so I’m assuming that the glove compartment needs to come out. Thanks.

Look for a four-wire connector - the resistor pack is on the end of that.

I can’t see anything at all electrical in the footwell behind the glove box so assume that the latter needs to be removed to get at it.
