MINI Countryman - Mini issues - Rog46

Hi I need some advice I have a 2014 countryman petrol, Ive had engine management lights constantly on, car doesnt drive correctly(idling et). O2 Sensor has been changed, ignition coil, sparks. Recently on the scanner cyclinder 4 misfire P0304 has come up. A compression test was done with it droppping to 0, advice has been various things burnt valves, hydraulics, exhaust etc.

I just need some advice if anyone has gone though this, a rough cost of sorting this out and what the issue could be.

Thanks

No-one is going to be able to give you an accurate quote for a job like this until the cause of the problem has become clear. It's extremely likely that the cylinder head will have to come off, but what's found after that is as yet unknown. Removing and refitting the head alone will be several hours work, and that's without having to go any further.

If it burns oil, either valve seals or piston rings or both are FUBAR.

Not cheap job for rings.

But dismantle engine job so £££s

A work colleague bought a 4 year old Mini from an independent dealer.. 5 months into ownership engine maangement light came on, limp mode and dealer 'fixed it'. Problem reoccurred several times until dealer warranty expired. She had confidence in dealer but should have have rejected the car. Ended up with £1k worth of 'repairs' without success and finally gave up trading it in at a loss.
