I delivered an item for a customer whilst delivering the item i pulled up slowly next to the customers house who were outside already. I heard a bit of a screeching noise. So I came out of the van and the customer Said to me did you hit that car i said i don't think so. So he checked the car that i hit from about 7 feet away but there was no damage and i couldn't see Any either. The weather was sunny and it was around 11am. So he goes i might have clipped the wing mirror but no damage on that either. So i drove off after delivering the item. Would u classed that as hit and run and should i tell the company i work for what happened. This happened in the uk

I would keep quiet.

If no damage was found, I can't see any reason to do anything ?

If it's a signwritten van then I'd suggest letting your employer know an accusation was made even if it's probably groundless. Come to think of it an alleged accident is an acceptable reason for DVLA to disclose Keeper details so if it's the employer's van a word in their ears would be a good thing too.

If I were a manager and I found out someting like this only when reported by the complainant I'd be asking the driver some serious questions and considering whether there was misconduct.
