Reversing Sensors - paul
I have a Ford Galaxy fitted with reversing sensors. The problem is the sensors are 'seeing' the tow bar and cycle carrier bracket that are fitted. Does anyone know if they can be reset or adjusted.
Re: Reversing Sensors - Michael
is this a new problem (eg have you just fitted the tow bar) or was it ok but has now developed the problem?
Re: Reversing Sensors - paul
They were okay with just the tow hook - but I have now fitted a bracket to mount my bike carrier. This is bigger and now the sensors aqre 'seeing' it.
Re: Reversing Sensors - Michael
I'm guessing as I have no experience of the ford unit, but the bmw's did not appear to be adjustable. You could re-position the offending sensor, albeit leaving an untidy hole in the bumper. Maybe you could disconnect the offender - need to trace the wires back to the control unit and see.

The sensors are only doing their job.
Disconnection of one or two sensors is the only option. The system will still work (I think)
No adjustment is possible.

The best reversing sensor I ever knew was a solid steel pressing on the back of a Willys jeep.
