VW Passat S TDi Saloon Diesel 11 12 2003 - Airbag fault unable to remove - MJJ

I have done a dioognostic test and this is the result.

Address 15 Airbags Labels 6Q0-909-605-VWS. IbI

Part No. 1C0 909 605 C

Component 08 Airbag VW61 04 0003

Coding 12344

Shop#: WSC 00028

1 Fault found:

01222 - Crash Senor Side Airbag; Passenger side (G180

30-00 - Open or Short to plus.

Any help will be greatly appreciated otherwise carwwill have to be scrapped.

The crash sensor is bolted to the car frame under the seat . You will need to remove the seat and lift the carpet for access . You may find the sensor is water logged or the wiring is rotten as it can get damp in that area .
