Toyota yaris 2013 - Toyota Yaris Lights Dimming - greysynchro

When I first start my Yaris with the lights on and engage either first or reverse gear, if I then lift the clutch pedal, for a split second the headlights dim or flicker. This can happen a couple of times when I reverse the car out of my garage, put the car in neurtal and then engage reverse gear again to leave my drive.The rest of the day/night it seems to be all ok. I have had the battery and alternator checked with car in neutral and under full load (heater, fan, A/C, heated rear window) including all lights on. Plus all belts have been checked.

I presume this is a electrical load situation. However my Toyota dealer (car is under Toyota extended warranty) will charge me almost £100 if they find that it is normal and not a faulty component! Any Thoughts?

At 7 years + , there is bound to be some resistance in the wiring that could cause this problem. I suspect the problem is well within limits and would be difficult to fix easily. Take it Toyota , let them take £100 off you , and tell you there’s nothing wrong sir .
