I think the parents are showing willing by supporting the prosecution. But maybe they'd do better grounding the boy for a while....7 years ought to do it!
My boys are much younger, so no doubt I have all kinds of treats in store, but is it normal for 10 year olds to be out and about on their own?

Whose car was he driving - his parents'? Sounds like he needs a bit of clip-round-the-ear type guidance.
