importing a beetle - scotty
Anyone ever imported a Mexican Beetle themselves? Do you have any advice on how to do it and are you glad you did.
Re: importing a beetle - fecker
You can buy them new here if that's any use. Place near me does 'em for £8999 new.
Re: importing a beetle - Josea
I tried it once using a jam jar and a piece of card, but the beetle died on the way over :-(

Advice? Drill holes in lid of jam jar to allow beetle to breathe.

;-)
Re: importing a beetle - fecker
jam jar don't sell beetles...... only mice.
Re: importing a beetle - Andy Bairsto
You will have a nightmare trying to get it type approved if you could,if you really want one bearing in mind they have no or very little rust protection .Buy one already imported legally.
Re: importing a beetle - Mark (Brazil)
Are you talking about the new beetle or the original ??
Re: importing a beetle - Alex. L. Dick
I was driven in an early VW at RAF Luneburg in 1948 (sorry, can't manage the umlaut) including across the rather lumpy grass field. I was used to an Austin 8 (of fond memory, I later did my courting in it, we called it "Fido").

I could have said, along with someone undesirable in another context, "I have seen the future and it works".

If you really want to polish up your car control, try drifting a Beetle in the wet.
