Yes, it probably was the supplying dealer - but some things have to be authorised by the manufacturer. But a good result anyway. Manufacturers and dealers both need to look long-term: a decision in favour of a customer, quite often at little expense, generates goodwill which can easily spread to customers' friends and acquaintances.
If you're a supplier, it's worth imagining that your customer is a member of, say, a Rotary club, or a W.I., or a sports team. Word soon gets around about conspicuously good or bad service.
I'm struggling to see how Sulphur Man's post fits the title of the thread.
