You probably know that there was a recent case of an autonomous car going berserk after seeing a sign showing 80 instead of 30. Rather more serious, and I would expect a few copycat examples.

Brave people indeed to allow their car to semi drive itself.

I'm in charge of the vehicle because i ultimately am responsible for what the vehicle does, as is everyone behind the wheel.

Be interesting to read the small print in the handbook about this, its probably along the lines of automatic emergency braking and such things, cleaver wording politely informing the driver that whatever happens its always the drivers responsibility.

I see on you tube that there are no warnings about this auto pilot in Teslas as they didn't take advice and put it in the manual, ie, that it isn't meant to be used as autonomous, only as driver assist.

I am under the impression the USA department of transport are not happy Tesla did not follow recommendation to put software in- and instructions in the manual so preventing drivers using it as autonomous
