Hi all
do you have to take wheel off to access the vauxhall astra windscreen washer pump ?
I have W reg (2000) 1.6 vauxhall astra, pump is working, but no water out of jets (jets have been cleaned)
suspect broken tube, I want to replace the tubing/hose from the pump to the jets
thanks

It's probably slime and gunge at the bottom of the tank blocking the filter at the end of the pick-up pipe. Try sticking a hose as far down as you can and giving it a blast. If that fails, siphon off as much as you can and then try boiling water and Jeyes fluid. If that fails you'll just have to get at it and dismantle it to find the blockage, assuming the pump is pumping and not just making a noise. Coincidentally I've just had to do that on my TR7 where the washer tank is easily accessible just under the bonnet. Do let us know the outcome, please.

If you jack up the left front of the car ,and turn the steering full lock left, then you may just be able to remove the front part of the plastic stone shield . Release it and this will give you access to the wash bottle, pump and tubing.

Probably worth doing every couple of years, with all of us following JohnF's sensible method, cleaning the tank out before that muck at the bottom can congeal.

hi guys
I did another test today, and I could see water all over nearside wheel, and on floor where car was parked
so I dont think a blocked filter, pipe
I will have to jack car up as suggested, when these storms lay off lol

just a quick update
it was the pipe inbetween the bottle/pump to the actual windscreen jets
replacement of pipe was the cure in this case
