Hi All
I have a Mk 2 VW Golf 1300 81,000 miles.
The spark plug (HT) Leads are the original set.
Is there a set time to replace spark plug (HT) Leads?
Do new leads increase engine efficiency?
The engine sounds fine, i.e. the ignition timing is alright.
Thanks

If it's running OK with no misfires or hiccups then I'd save your cash for down the pub
But, then saying that, replacement isn't a bad idea at this age/mileage. They're bound to be a little brittle in places.
New ones won't have any effect unless the old ones were shot IMO

Keep the plugs in good condition. By that I mean change the regularly every 12,000 miles or 12 months. Because it is the plugs that wear, (their resistance increases as the gaps get bigger and the electrodes wear) in theory you should avoid other HT problems.

Hello Andrew I reckon you spend more time on this site than you do driving the car. For goodness sake go and buy a Ford.:-)) Happy driving

Enough of the personal comments. How much time a contributor spends here is no concern of yours.
