Yes, I think they can be different despite being built on the same platform. Particularly as the cars tested had different powertrains. The Capturs were a 1.3 130bhp manual and a 155 bhp automatic, whereas the Juke tested was a 1.0 115 bhp automatic.
The original Juke sold well alongside the Qashqai, both very much in the vanguard of the move towards SUVs. Now there are lots (Auto Express have just done a feature this week listing 130 current SUVs) and I suspect that the new Juke is going to struggle to sell well.
The Captur is likely to appeal to more people. It looks better both outside and in, and there's a better choice of engines, with a hybrid on the way.
