Returning A New Car Within 6 Months - B5301

I bought a brand new car in May and since then have had some problems. I've had warning lights flash on three separate occasions. Theyve all been related to a misfire code and each time the dealer has simply said they need more info and because its so random there's nothing they can do. This time however there were around 10 fault codes including the misfire, they all looked like they were ECU communication faults. Again the dealer has drove the car around and said its fine and cleared the codes. As I'm about a month out from 6 months, my next step is looking to return the car as its not fit for purpose and the dealer isn't fixing whatever the problem is. Is this a good route to take at this point?

Bypass the dealer and contact the manufacturer themselves via their customer services. They’ll take up the case and seek to solve it. Dealership workshops just want you delt with and out of the road and intermittent faults like this are often just fobbed off with “we’ll need to let it develop” etc. Only problem is that you’d need to prove there is a fault in order to even look at rejecting the car and currently you can’t so let the manufacturer try to help.

I'm thinking it's some sort of intermittent electrical fault. The car drives fine and if it wasn't for the warning lights and fault codes I would know anything was wrong, it certainly doesn't feel like the car is misfiring and when the warning light flashes, the car was normal. The dealer told me this time they drove the car around for 50miles to try and recreate the fault but couldn't (thanks for adding 50miles to the clock). My next step will be contacting Renault as I think it needs specialist input if it is electrical. Just not happy paying for a new car up front only for multiple Fault codes to keep reappearing.

A misfire if not fixed could damage the emission control system i.e. the catalyst and/or sensors, I would guess.

It's not impossible, but I doubt whether the dealer/manufacturer would readily take it back without considerably more effort at fixing it, so I would press them to do that or to acknowledge that they can't fix it - clearly it's intermittent but should it happen frequently and for any duration it could end in costly repairs. I would also attempt to start a conversation with the manufacturer's customer service function.

What sort of car is it?

EDIT - crossed with SLO76's reply. He knows more than I do.
